The opportunity
University of the Arts London (UAL) is seeking a talented and motivated Junior Finance Business Partner to join our friendly and supportive Academic Colleges Finance Business Partnering team on a part-time basis.
You will provide a comprehensive and customer-orientated business partnering service to budget managers from across the University, providing relevant financial information that will facilitate the smooth running of the costing and budget monitoring process.
Drawing on your in-depth, professional knowledge, you will work closely with budget holders to develop budgets and support month-end processes, ensuring these processes are completed in line with agreed approaches and to tight deadlines.
You will seek to establish close working relationships with the College and relevant stakeholders, in order to develop a full understanding of activities, deliverables, and operational challenges.
You will also ensure that all transactions are recorded correctly within the finance system, performing relevant checks to confirm that tax, legal, financial, budgeting, HR and Payroll requirements have been fully considered and met correctly.
Your role shall involve maintaining Agresso Business World and iTrent coding structures to meet business reporting requirements, alongside training ABW users to ensure expenditure items are approved in line with financial protocols.
About you
You will be actively studying for a professional accounting qualification and you shall be educated to degree level in a relevant subject area.
You will demonstrate a good knowledge of finance and management information needs, knowledge of finance information systems and an understanding of financial management controls and procedures.
You will have previous experience of financial planning, budget setting, management accounts and variance analysis, as well as experience of explaining financial information and producing management accounts to tight deadlines.
You shall also be experienced in utilising financial systems such as Agresso Business World.
