The role
University of the Arts London (UAL) is looking for an experienced administrator with a passion for student support to join our Accommodation Service team. This is a vital and rewarding role at the heart of the student experience, providing professional, friendly and responsive support to both current and prospective students.
Our Accommodation Services team provides a wide range of support to students, including managing applications and contracts for halls of residence, overseeing rent collection, offering advice on student housing and private renting, and arranging temporary summer accommodation. You will play a vital role in ensuring these services run smoothly by assisting the team with day-to-day administration. From updating rotas and templates, to maintaining systems, processes and management information, you will help ensure our services remain organised, efficient and effective.
Customer service sits at the heart of this role, involving regular contact with students, staff, and external stakeholders through email, phone, social media, online messaging, and in-person interactions. Additionally, you will also provide administrative and project support to the Accommodation Services Manager. This will involve PA duties such as diary management, minute taking, meeting and event coordination, and the preparation of reports and documentation as required.
About you
We are looking for someone with proven experience in administration and project management support, who can work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
An understanding of and a background in the student accommodation sector is essential, along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a customer-focused approach to your work.
You will need strong IT skills, familiarity with Excel, Outlook and the wider Microsoft Office suite, and confidence in using social media and project management tools, including Kinetic, Flywire, WPM, Agresso Business World, SITS and SAMS.
Please note that this position requires for us to carry out an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check for the appointed post-holder.
