This 3 year post provides an exciting opportunity to join a multidisciplinary team focused on the discovery and characterization of new bioactive peptides. The University of Manchester and No7 Beauty Company, a member of the Boots Group are engaged in a multi-million pound collaborative research programme aimed at understanding the complex mechanisms which underlie both skin ageing and the maintenance of skin health.
As part of this research programme, we are seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate. Working with a supervisory team of experts in skin ageing, extracellular matrix biology, cell signaling and proteomics the successful applicant will develop screening and characterisation pipelines to identify new extracellular matrix-derived peptides (matrikines) with potential therapeutic activity and to understand the fundamental role(s) played by these peptides in mediating cell behavior.
The role, which is based in the Division of Cell Matrix Biology and Regenerative Medicine and led by Prof. Michael Sherratt, provides an exciting opportunity to engage in fundamental and translational research.
