Salary: £42,000 – £50,000 + up to £5,000 pro-rata weekend teaching premium

Hours: Full Time (40 hours per week) | Contract Type: Permanent 

London College of Contemporary Arts (LCCA) offers accredited programmes in the creative arts and contemporary business fields.

Position

The Role

The Foundation Year supports progression to Level 4 as part of LCCA’s 4-year degree programmes. It equips students with essential academic and subject-specific skills in Business, Hospitality, and Fashion Management & Marketing, ensuring readiness for undergraduate study. 

As Subject Lead – Foundation, you will provide academic leadership and ensure the delivery of an outstanding student experience.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Leading curriculum design, delivery, and assessment at Level 3 (with teaching across Levels 4–6, and Level 7 desirable).
  • Ensuring consistently high standards in teaching and student outcomes.
  • Supporting and guiding academic staff, overseeing quality assurance, and resource planning.
  • Building and maintaining strong industry links to enhance student learning.
  • Managing all aspects of course delivery including planning, admissions, assessments, and moderation.
  • Contributing to curriculum development, reviews, cross-disciplinary teaching strategies, and examination boards.
  • Supporting staff and student development through professional practice, research, and scholarship.
  • Promoting equality, diversity, and inclusive teaching practices in line with LCCA policies.

Requirements

  • Relevant BA and postgraduate qualification (or equivalent professional experience).
  • Teaching qualification (PG Cert or equivalent).
  • Expertise in developing and delivering course materials in Business, Art, or Design at Foundation level.
  • Experience preparing students for progression to undergraduate study.
  • An innovative and reflective approach to teaching.
  • Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusive learning practices.
  • Ability to inspire students and work collaboratively with colleagues.
