About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for you to join the University of Oxford as an Apprentice Communications and Events Administrator in the Department of Politics and International Relations (DPIR).
You will be located within the Communication and Events Team in DPIR, and you will assist the team with a wide variety of tasks across internal and external communications, which will provide excellent training for a wide-variety of communications-related roles across the University in both colleges and other departments. This will include assisting with the planning and organisation of events, (including high profile lectures, alumni events, celebratory events and internal events), responding to a wide range of enquiries from both internal and external contacts, assisting with website and social media activities, and delivering communications support to the rest of the team, as well as to the wider Department.
About the apprenticeship
As part of this role, you will undertake an Apprenticeship with Abingdon and Witney College where you will complete a Level 3 Business Administration apprenticeship.
For this apprenticeship, you will work at the Department of Politics and International Relations. As part of your apprenticeship, you will be required to attend Abingdon and Witney College. During your apprenticeship, you will need to attend the college 1 day a week over a 10-week period.
In total, it will take 18 months to complete all elements of the apprenticeship, with support from the Department, University, and College throughout.

About you
You will be passionate about starting your career in Communications and Events and excited about the opportunity of becoming an apprentice at the University of Oxford. You may be starting your career or you may be looking for a career change.
To complete the level 3 apprenticeship, you will need to evidence passes at 9-4 or A*-C in GCSE Maths and English, or equivalent. Regardless of your prior qualifications, Abingdon and Witney College will require you to complete a short initial assessment during the application process. There are also government residency requirements for Apprenticeship funding which the Training Provider will be able to advise on.
