About the Role
In this varied position, you’ll play a central role in managing alumni communications across multiple channels, including the alumni website and social media platforms. You will also be the first point of contact for alumni enquiries, ensuring they receive a professional and positive experience. Alongside this, you will support effective data capture and reporting, working closely with colleagues to ensure engagement activity is recorded and used to inform future planning. The role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience across communications, relationship management and data-driven engagement in a dynamic university environment.
About You
You’ll be a strong communicator with the ability to create engaging content across digital, print and social media channels. With excellent organisational skills, you’ll be confident managing multiple priorities, using sound judgement to solve problems and keep projects on track. A keen eye for detail, together with strong writing and editing skills, will enable you to produce communications that resonate with a wide range of audiences.
You will enjoy building relationships, whether with colleagues across the University or with alumni and external stakeholders, and will bring a proactive and collaborative approach to your work. As the first point of contact for alumni, you will handle enquiries with professionalism, tact and efficiency, ensuring alumni always feel valued and connected. Experience of using CRM systems and data to inform and evaluate activity will be valuable, alongside good IT skills and an understanding of compliance requirements such as GDPR. This role will suit someone looking to develop their experience in communications, engagement or events, with the opportunity to build skills that will support future career progression.
