Summary of the role
This new full-time (1.0FTE) post is available from 03/11/2025 until 26/06/2026 on a fixed-term basis, within the Faculty of Environment, Science and Economy.

The post
The Faculty wishes to recruit a Graduate Research Assistant to support the work of Dawei Qiu and Zhong Fan. This ARIA (Advanced Research and Invention Agency) funded post is available from 03/11/2025 to 26/06/2026. The successful applicant will conduct cutting edge research on developing safe and scalable AI decision support tools for energy systems.
The post will carry out research in the application of advanced AI technologies to energy systems and publish in top energy and AI conferences / journals. The successful applicant will also develop open-source simulation and decision-making tools based on their research.
About you
The successful applicant will be able to present information on research progress and outcomes, communicate complex information, orally, in writing and electronically and prepare proposals and applications to external bodies.
Applicants will be educated to first degree level or possess an equivalent qualification/experience in a related field of study or equivalent experience and be able to demonstrate sufficient knowledge in the discipline and of research methods and techniques to work within established research programmes. Applicants will be able to have background in energy system, with good knowledge of AI techniques.
