Are you passionate about helping to deliver an exceptional student experience in a top-ranked Russell Group University? Can you provide excellent teaching in Biology and our related degrees?
We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and successful scientist with the ability and skills to contribute to the world class teaching across programmes within the School of Biology. The University of Leeds obtained Gold in the recent Teaching Excellence Framework assessment; this appointment is therefore a chance for a successful applicant to join a sector-leading group within the UK.
As a Teaching Fellow, you will have a PhD in Ecology, Biology, Zoology or a related area, with experience of teaching field courses and field ecology or a closely related subject. You will have ability to teach at an advanced level with an enthusiastic, and engaging approach to delivery to students studying our undergraduate degree programmes of Biology, Zoology, Genetics, Ecology and Conservation Biology and our MSc programmes in Biodiversity and Conservation Biology, Global Conservation Science and Sustainable Agriculture.
The key requirement is the ability to teach and assess Biology at undergraduate and masters level. The primary criteria for appointment will be academic excellence and potential to further enhance the teaching activity within Biology at the University of Leeds.
The University of Leeds and the Faculty of Biological Sciences are committed to providing equal opportunities for all and offer a range of family friendly policies. The University is a charter member of Athena SWAN (the national body that promotes gender equality in higher education), and the Faculty of Biological Sciences has received a prestigious Silver award.
