Interim Head of Centre – Dental School

The Queens Dental Sciences Centre (QuDeSC) at the University of Greater Manchester has been successfully offering undergraduate and postgraduate Dental Care Profession programmes for a number of years providing exceptional academic education and professional training, at undergraduate and postgraduate level.

The centre provides patient-centred education and professional training to prepare for advanced work in both community and private dental care & dental technology. QuDeSC has a clearly defined mandate to offer education that is accessible to all who will benefit from the experience of outstanding quality and innovation.

In order to support the ambitions growth plans for the centre, we are seeking to recruit an experienced Head of Centre, who will report to the Academic Director. The role is initially a one-year fixed term role, and shall lead the development of the centre, working closely with colleagues across the wider University, and external regulators, ensuring the development and delivery of effective student programmes.

To be effective in this role you will have proven skills in the management and delivery of new substantial academic developments and projects, and exceptional people skills, including influencing and line management.

In addition to an honours degree in a dental related area, and a post graduate qualification, the successful person will hold a PhD, and be registered with the General Dental Council (GDC). They shall be experienced in working within a complex environment and will have exceptional communication skills.
