School of Health and Wellbeing
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic social work professional with experience of working with adults to join our social work team and to contribute to the provision of high-quality teaching within the School of Health and Wellbeing. You will teach primarily across modules on a range of social work programmes, including the apprenticeship, under-graduate pathways and pre-qualifying masters. You may also be asked to teach on relevant post-registration CPD courses. You will need to be committed to the maintenance of high academic standards and enhancement of the student experience and be prepared to contribute to the development of the faculty’s portfolio of courses, linking with relevant external partners, and the generation of external income for the university.
We are committed to improving diversity in our social work teaching team and would welcome applications from global majority candidates. We are happy to consider applications for part-time working.
You will be educated to a minimum of a bachelor’s degree level or equivalent and preferably have completed, or be willing to work towards, a master’s qualification. We have a growing doctoral community with funded studentships, so we very much welcome research active academics committed to doctoral supervision (if applicable), contributing to research and ethics activity within the school and able and willing to seek research funding. We welcome applicants with a PhD or very close to completion.
You will hold current registration with Social Work England as a registered social worker and have significant practice experience. Experience of teaching in a practice or academic setting is essential and candidates with a research profile are welcomed. Dedication to innovative teaching and research activities within social work practice are also a requirement of the post, to contribute towards the social work portfolio and the profile of the faculty.
You will be supported to complete the post-graduate certificate in education as a mandatory requirement of your future employment. A range of other CPD courses are available for you to study.
