About the Role
As a part-time Electrical/Engineering Apprenticeship Instructor/Mentor (22.2 hours per week), you will play a key role in preparing apprentices for successful careers with Rolls-Royce Submarines and the wider supply chain. You will plan, deliver, and assess high-quality teaching and learning in electrical engineering, combining practical skills training with underpinning theory to develop the knowledge, skills, and behaviours required by industry and apprenticeship standards. Using the cutting-edge facilities at the Nuclear Skills Academy, you will provide hands-on instruction, design engaging learning materials, and mentor apprentices both individually and in groups. You’ll also support apprentices in embedding English, Maths, and professional behaviours, ensuring they are well prepared for End-Point Assessment. By working collaboratively with colleagues, employers, and stakeholders, you will contribute to the continued growth and impact of the Nuclear Skills Academy while ensuring apprentices are supported to achieve their best.
Interview Date: 20th October (On-Site)
About You
You will bring professional experience in electrical engineering, supported by relevant vocational qualifications at Level 3 or 4 (or higher). With experience of working in industry and/or Further Education, you will have a strong understanding of apprenticeship delivery and the ability to deliver, mentor, and assess learners to a high standard. Ideally, you will hold a teaching qualification (or be willing to work towards Level 5) and have experience of assessment and verification processes. You’ll be a collaborative team player who values working with colleagues and employers to provide a seamless apprenticeship experience, while also confident in supporting apprentices individually to achieve their goals. Above all, you will be passionate about helping apprentices succeed, combining your technical expertise with a commitment to high-quality teaching and learning.
