About the Role

As Head of School, you will lead a vibrant academic community committed to excellence in teaching, research, and practice. You will drive innovation in curriculum design, foster interdisciplinary collaboration, and champion inclusive education that makes a real-world impact.

You will work closely with senior faculty leadership to align the School’s vision with institutional priorities, including widening participation, digital transformation, and regional engagement.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership across the School of Education
• Lead and support academic staff in delivering high-quality teaching and impactful research
• Strengthen partnerships with schools, educational organisations, and civic bodies
• Promote a culture of inclusion, wellbeing, and professional development
• Contribute to faculty-wide initiatives and cross-disciplinary collaboration

About You

We are seeking a values-driven leader with:

• A strong academic profile in ITE and related education fields
• Proven experience in academic leadership and team development
• A track record of research, innovation, and external engagement
• Excellent communication, emotional intelligence, and strategic insight
• A commitment to equity, diversity, and social justice in education
