Birmingham City University (BCU) is seeking an experienced and highly organised CAS Manager to join our dynamic CAS Team and play a key leadership role in managing the University's Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) process.

As the CAS Manager, you will oversee and continuously improve the University’s CAS issuance process in line with UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) requirements. You will work closely with colleagues across Admissions, Compliance, academic schools and external stakeholders to ensure the timely and accurate issuance of CAS to international students, ensuring compliance and operational excellence. 

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the end-to-end CAS issuance process for international applicants requiring Student Route visas.
  • Ensure compliance with all UKVI regulations and guidance in the preparation and issuing of CAS.
  • Supervise a team of CAS officers, providing training, support, and performance management.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure a joined-up approach to CAS-related activity.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on CAS and Student Route compliance, providing guidance and training across the University.
  • Use data to monitor performance, identify trends, and provide reports and recommendations to senior management.
  • Undertake any other duties as required by the line manager consistent with the grade. 

We are looking for candidates that have:

  • Current or very recent experience in the higher education sector or in the immigration sector
  • Relevant line management experience of professional services teams
  • Experience in developing and delivering training
  • Ability to perform effectively in a busy work environment and managing a high workload.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
