About the role
Are you ready to help connect Imperial’s world-leading researchers with global partners to tackle society’s greatest challenges? As International Relations Officer (Americas), you’ll play a key role in strengthening strategic partnerships across the region—advancing collaboration, enabling discovery, and amplifying the global impact of our research, innovation and education.
What you would be doing
You will join Imperial’s International Relations Office, supporting the development of academic partnerships, research collaborations and strategic initiatives across the Americas. Your role will span everything from providing regional insight and managing collaborative programmes, to supporting the delivery of high-profile visits and international events and contributing to regional communications by crafting stories and content that showcase our global impact. Working closely with senior colleagues, academics and external partners, you’ll help strengthen Imperial’s role as a leader in international research, innovation and education.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Working with colleagues to deliver programmes with existing strategic partners designed to build research, education and innovation partnerships in the Americas
- Providing support for the preparation of briefings and strategy documents for use during international visits and to inform senior staff’s decision-making
- Assisting with the delivery of a series of events in priority areas of science and technology
- Contributing to the development of the regional communications strategy
What we are looking for
- Experience working with a range of internal and external stakeholders, ideally in a higher education or international context
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to write high-quality briefings
- Strong analytical skills and a strategic mindset, with the ability to interpret complex information and spot opportunities
- A proactive, self-directed approach—comfortable managing multiple projects independently and adapting to changing priorities
- An understanding of the international higher education and research landscape, ideally across the Americas
- The ability to build credibility with senior colleagues and academic partners
- A collaborative mindset and an interest in science, innovation and global impact
