Euro University of Bahrain (“EUB”) invites applications for a permanent, full-time academic position at the level of Lecturer (equivalent to Assistant Professor) at the College of Law beginning in January 2026.

Candidates must demonstrate the ability to deliver excellent teaching at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels and a commitment to student-centred education and meaningful knowledge exchange activities.

  1. Curriculum Vitae detailing prior teaching experience and containing a list of publications if any.
  2. A detailed cover letter summarising the motivations for applying for the role, indicating how the applicant meets the job requirements.
  3. Names and contact details of three referees.

The successful candidates must meet any relevant visa and regulatory requirements set by the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Role Descriptor

Major Duties:

  • Delivering outstanding teaching that is informed through current research activity in the area.
  • Mentoring and managing students regarding academic matters.
  • Communicate effectively with students.
  • Examining and undertaking administrative duties on undergraduate and postgraduate programmes
  • Carrying out curriculum within the college and international partner institutions.
  • Supervision of students and project dissertations undertaken by undergraduate and postgraduate students.
  • Contributing to quality monitoring of academic programmes.
  • Providing cover where necessary
  • Engaging in research activities.
  • Engage fully in college and university activities, as evidenced by participation in meetings, seminars, and college and recruitment events.
  • Participating in continuing professional development.
  • Actively striving towards helping meet college and university objectives.
  • Undertaking such other duties as may be reasonably requested and that are commensurate with the grade of the post.
  • Behaving in a manner which is in line with the University’s values.
  • Representing and contributing to the University’s vision, mission and ethos.
  • Performing other tasks as reasonably required, with an appreciation that role descriptors may change over time due to institutional demands.

Requirement

Essential (E) or Desirable (D) Method of Assessment

  • PhD or Master in Law from a recognised university E/ A/D
  • At least one British qualifying degree or experience teaching Common law courses or legal practice experience in a Common law jurisdiction and specialisation in Private Law D/ A/D
  • High-quality research outputs D A/I
  • The ability to teach undergraduate and postgraduate students to a high standard E/ A/I
  • The ability to undertake appropriate administrative responsibilities to a high standard E/ A/I
  • The ability to work effectively with a diverse group of colleagues and students in a multilingual setting E/ A/I
  • High character with a strong commitment to ethical behaviour E/ A/I/D
  • In line with mandatory national law: E/ A/I/D
    • Be fit to work in terms of health and not be over the age of sixty upon assuming office
    • No criminal or disciplinary record
    • Comply with all other regulatory requirements.
