We have an exciting opportunity available within the University of Hertfordshire’s IT Operations Department within Library and Computing Services for an Assistant Applications and Development Consultant with the right skills and experience in configuring and supporting Enterprise Business systems.
Main duties and responsibilities
Main duties involve second line support of the University’s Enterprise Business applications resolving ‘Business as Usual’ technical queries across the University, as well as undertaking upgrades and changes to user computing environments.
Responsibilities will include planning, configuration, testing, and support of a wide variety of Enterprise applications and software solutions to meet University 24/7 service requirements, in-line with security arrangements including access to other systems and services.
Skill and experience required
You will have proven practical expertise and experience at an appropriate level of responsibility in configuration of software solutions and business applications. Experience of translating business requirements into a technical design considering the underpinning data management would be an advantage.
An understanding of SQL, fault investigation and resolution, data manipulation, awareness or experience in Microsoft Office 365 Power Platform would be an advantage.
You will have good communication skills. You will be self-motivated, have a high standard of customer care, ability to work on your own initiative and be able to work effectively in a team.
Qualifications required
You will be educated with a minimum of a degree (or equivalent level 6 qualification) or equivalent proven experience. A qualification in computing at professional level or equivalent proven experience.
