An exciting opportunity has arisen for an HCPC registered dietitian to join our friendly, forward-thinking and dynamic programme team within the Faculty of Health and Wellbeing as a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Nutrition and Dietetics (N&D).
The post holder will have the opportunity to contribute to the delivery, review, development and growth of the N&D programme. This programme was created in collaboration with stakeholders to meet the needs of the local workforce, while developing and shaping confident and competent dietitians, able to meet the contemporary requirements of the profession. The course is growing in popularity, and the team are ambitious in their aims to increase their impact on N&D provision and development of the profession.
Our ideal candidate will have experience of teaching within Higher Education and/or in practice, alongside experience in clinical settings and the ability to contribute to teaching and assessment across the N&D BSc programme. They will be passionate about the impact of dietitians and committed to supporting learners to achieve their full potential through provision of high quality, relevant and pedagogically sound learning experiences, The post holder may also have the opportunity to contribute to teaching and learning across the wider department and faculty.
The successful candidate will be a strong team player, able to prioritise and meet the changing demands of the role and communicate effectively both internally and externally, including working closely with learners and placement providers to support every student's development both in university and on placement. There will be opportunities to contribute to admissions and recruitment and development of contemporary practice-based-learning experiences.
The N&D programme is led by an experienced Programme Lead supported by an Academic Head of Department for Allied Health Professions, Social Work and Sport, and a Deputy Head of Department for Allied Health Professions. The department offers several other programmes which align well with N&D, including direct entry Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Nursing and Public Health resulting in opportunities for inter-professional learning and teaching, research and collaboration.
