The University of Salford is looking to recruit a Gardener to work on a full-time permanent basis. Applicants will be required to service the whole University estate with a range of different tasks.
Applicants will need to be organised and capable of working on their own initiative to carry out scheduled works on a variety of sites in and around the campuses. Working to tight deadlines applicants will need to complete all duties given to mandatory quality standards.

Relevant qualifications (NVQ Horticulture Level 2 -3) and experience (5 years +) in the sector is desirable although the right candidate will be provided with training to close any skills gaps identified. A full clean driving licence (required to transport heavy equipment between campuses) would be an advantage as would tractor and trailer and PA1 and PA6 NPTC spraying licences.

About the School or About the Department
Our Estates and Facilities team lead the development of our campus, creating engaging and innovative learning, working and living environments for colleagues, students, and partners. The Directorate has over 300 employees and works with a wide range of external contractors.
The services arm of the Directorate is responsible for delivering full estates and facilities management to the University, including capital development, property maintenance, cleaning, security, caretaking and landscaping. Covering 33 buildings across the estate, split currently across 5 sites.
Led by the Estates and Facilities team, the University is undergoing a transformation to deliver its Campus Masterplan. Together with Salford City Council and The English Cities Fund, there will be an investment of £2.5bn over the next 20-years, as part of the Crescent regeneration programme. This investment will transform our campus and create a new city district that will bring together industry, education and innovation, providing new spaces for teaching, innovation, commercial, residential, green space and sustainable travel.
