Lecturer in Public Health and Global Public Health (Fixed Term)

Fixed Term for 12 Months

The University’s School of Nursing, Midwifery, Allied and Public Health is the University’s academic and professional home for Nursing, and the Allied Health Professions, and for all those interested in improving public health and well-being. We achieve this through our research, and by providing a portfolio of courses and other learning opportunities that are creative, inspirational and empowering, and which develop knowledge, policy and practice. Our research work within the School focuses on the improvement of nursing, health and care services, health and well-being by co-producing solutions in close collaboration with service users and other stakeholders.

About the role

An excellent opportunity to join a proactive, dynamic Public Health team that provides teaching and related scholarly activities.

To be successful in this role, you will use your knowledge of best practice through previous academic experience and/or as a public health professional to deliver specialist and generalist knowledge and skills to students at all HE levels You will have excellent communication and organisational skills and a desire to inspire a future generation of public health professionals alongside an established and friendly group of academic and professional staff.

You will be educated to a relevant higher degree or equivalent with experience in the wider public health workforce. You must be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills and teaching experience is desirable.

How will you work?

We are committed to supporting flexible methods of working wherever possible and this role is Flexible and connected (Academic & Student Facing) which means campus attendance will vary on a day-to-day basis and across the year but must purposefully align to the service being delivered and to the needs of our students, staff, and stakeholders. It is expected that the majority of your working time will be spent on campus.
