The Faculty of Modern and Medieval Languages and Linguistics are seeking an enthusiastic and versatile person with excellent administrative skills to the role of Section Secretary, providing general administrative support principally across the Slavonic Studies, Italian, and Modern Greek Sections, and in the Faculty Office. This is an exciting time to join a large, complex and welcoming Faculty with an exceptional international record in teaching and research.
Working in a team of six within the Undergraduate Administration team, the role holder will support the Faculty and its five constituent sections in delivering undergraduate teaching and examining. You will also provide administrative assistance to the Section Coordinators and Deputy Faculty Manager in support of other Faculty-wide and Section-specific activities, and will cover reception duties in the Faculty Office as needed.
The successful candidate will be a well-organised and adaptable team player with a commitment to providing a high quality service to students, staff and other stakeholders. You will be skilled at managing competing priorities and be able to move between tasks at short notice to meet deadlines. You will work collaboratively within your immediate team, and across Faculty and School services, sharing best practice and facilitating continuous improvement.
