Job description:
Are you interested in furthering your career at the leading edge of manufacturing? We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Engineer to join the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC) in Sheffield. You will join a diverse team of engineers, project managers and operational staff to help deliver innovative manufacturing research for UK manufacturing, concentrating on automated assembly.
Based in the AMRC’s flagship Factory 2050 facility, you will be employed by the University of Sheffield and will hold a key role in progressing the uptake of improving manufacturing processes through automation and mechanical design by working closely with key collaborators in the UK and internationally.
We are looking for someone with experience in implementing mechanical engineering and design in an industrial context, and who is not afraid of challenging “the norm.” You might have been working in a related role already or maybe recently completed a degree in a relevant field. What is crucial is the desire to seek solutions to challenging problems and drive the adoption of new technologies within the manufacturing sector.
As part of this role, you will have the opportunity to present your work, or further your knowledge, through attendance at national and international events. The AMRC supports professional development, including chartership and training relevant to your role.
We build teams of people from different heritages and lifestyles from across the world, whose talent and contributions complement each other to greatest effect. We believe diversity in all its forms delivers greater impact through research, teaching and student experience.
What We Offer
The University of Sheffield is a remarkable place to work. Our people are at the heart of everything we do. Their diverse backgrounds, abilities and beliefs make Sheffield a world-class university.
