At Middlesex University, our Human Resources Department has been restructured recently to ensure we have the necessary staff, deployed optimally, with the right skills and expertise. The new HR Structure will be launched on 1 September 2025 with the new HR Department playing a leading role in the development and implementation of our evolving people strategy to enable the delivery of Middlesex University’s strategy 2031.
We are recruiting to the role of Head of Reward and Inclusion in this new HR Structure, to join our newly formed HR Leadership team. This is a key role within our new HR Department, responsible for overseeing and the effective management of the reward and inclusion service overall, leading on projects and action planning to deliver an efficient and effective reward and inclusion service in line with the University’s People Strategy. The successful postholder will work closely with the HR Director, other members of the HR Leadership team and leaders and managers across the university to ensure the development and maintenance of contemporary, efficient, effective, proactive, needs-led, and transformative Reward and Inclusion services across the University.
Their work will include developing and implementing our EDI and Reward strategies, leading the submission, monitoring and delivery of Equality charters applications, renewals and plans to maintain accreditation for Athena SWAN charter, Race Equality Charter Mark, Stonewall Workplace Equality Index, Disability Confident etc. They will also ensure effective preparation of the EDI Annual report, Pay Gap reports, overseeing the Job evaluation processes, academic promotions and evaluation of our staff benefits offer.
The successful postholder will be a strategic thinker and a collaborative leader, educated to degree level or equivalent, with a Chartered MCIPD or equivalent experience and a high level of personal commitment to equality, fairness and inclusion in reward and inclusion strategies. The successful postholder will also have expert knowledge of Hay and HERA job evaluation or similar methodologies, up to date knowledge of relevant employment legislation, understanding of good/sector practice, and experience of developing, implementing and evaluating the effectiveness of equality, diversity, inclusion, and reward initiatives.
