The role

This is an exciting opportunity to help strengthen student financial wellbeing at the University of Bristol. As Financial Wellbeing Officer, you will deliver engaging workshops, outreach initiatives, and proactive interventions to support students in developing the skills and confidence to manage their money effectively. Working alongside colleagues in the Money Advice & Funding Team, you will identify and support students at financial risk, contribute to University-wide financial wellbeing campaigns, and enhance access to financial education and resources.

What will you be doing?

You will:

  • Design and deliver financial education programmes, including workshops, outreach events, and digital resources.
  • Provide one-to-one financial guidance, helping students to budget, access funding, and navigate financial challenges.
  • Support students at financial risk, including those affected by gambling, gaming harms, or other high-risk financial behaviours.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across student support, academic departments, and external organisations to strengthen financial wellbeing provision.
  • Develop financial guidance materials, such as budgeting tools and tailored resources, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
  • Contribute to University-wide campaigns such as National Student Money Week and other initiatives to promote positive financial behaviours.
  • Monitor engagement and use data insights to evaluate impact and inform service improvements.

  • Passionate about supporting students to improve their financial wellbeing.
  • Experienced in providing financial guidance, coaching, or support in a student-facing or educational setting.
  • Confident in designing and delivering educational or awareness-raising initiatives such as workshops, campaigns, or digital content.
  • Able to communicate financial concepts clearly, both in writing and in person.
  • Skilled in engaging diverse audiences and handling sensitive issues professionally.
  • Organised, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities effectively.
  • Confident using data, digital tools, and social media to engage students and improve service delivery.

Additional information

Work pattern: Full time - 35 hours per week
