We are seeking an experienced dental therapist to join our team as a Skills Educator / Senior Skills Educator. The position offers the opportunity to be part of our growing Dental Hygiene/Dental Therapy programme. This is a full-time post; however, part-time applicants will be considered.

The Department of Allied Health Professions, Sport and Exercise, is situated in the School of Human and Health Sciences and offers a wide range of excellent educational provision across nine health professions.

The University of Huddersfield has excellent facilities, which continue to expand with state-of-the-art teaching, research, and clinical facilities in the National Health Innovation Campus. The Emily Siddon Building, due to open in January 2026, will be at the heart of Dental Hygiene/Dental Therapy training, with bespoke simulation labs and an on-site clinic.

Huddersfield is a lively town, which is close to beautiful countryside and has excellent road and rail links to Manchester, Leeds, and Sheffield. In 2023, the University achieved the TEF Gold Award, and its apprenticeship provision was graded as “Outstanding” by Ofsted.

You will work with experienced colleagues to teach undergraduate dental hygiene/dental therapy theory and clinical skills in the simulation lab and work as a clinical supervisor at our on-site clinic.

You should have experience in a range of contemporary dental therapy practices. You will currently be registered with the General Dental Council as a Dental Therapist. You will have either a Diploma or BSc in Dental Therapy (or equivalent) and evidence of continuing professional development. A master's degree in a relevant subject is required for the Senior Skills Educator post. You should have experience of teaching in dental therapy practice and/or in higher education.
