The Marshall Institute works to improve the impact and effectiveness of private action for public benefit.
The post holder will work on a new research study called ‘The evolving role of philanthropy in global financial hubs’ funded by the Institute of Philanthropy in Hong Kong. Philanthropic action is developing in and around global financial hubs of diverse types and in diverse geographies. This comparative study will explore this development across five global financial hubs (Singapore, Hong Kong, London, New York and Abu Dhabi).
It will investigate to what extent and how philanthropy supports the growth and development of financial hubs; it will investigate how funders, policymakers and the financial sector can most effectively deploy growing philanthropic capital to catalyse more impact and achieve better socio-economic outcomes. This may include exploration of innovative policy tools, infrastructure and systems, and also of creative and collaborative partnerships between philanthropic actors, the finance sector and government.
In this role, you will be responsible for conducting groundbreaking research that adheres to the highest standards of quality and integrity. You will take operational responsibility for the research study on a daily basis from initiation to dissemination of findings. You will manage a team of researchers, and to ensure and oversee research of the highest quality and rigour.
