About the role
We are looking for a Postdoctoral Project Research Scientist to join the Ciccarelli Lab.
The lab is dedicated to uncovering the fundamental drivers of cancer evolution, combining cutting-edge computational methods with innovative wet-lab approaches. Our long-term goal is to understand how cancers emerge, progress, and respond to therapy, with a primary focus on gastrointestinal cancers.
We take a multi-disciplinary, collaborative approach, bringing together computational biologists, experimental scientists, and clinical partners. Every project is team-driven, offering a dynamic research environment where computational and experimental expertise come together to generate transformative insights.
The role involves developing and optimizing the assay to maximize sensitivity and specificity using deep learning, spatial biology and digital pathology. You will validate the marker’s predictive power across multiple cancer types beyond colorectal cancer, broadening its clinical impact. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate closely with other Ciccarelli lab members and the Francis Crick Institute Scientific Technology Platforms, gaining access to world-class resources and expertise.
This is a unique opportunity to drive forward a project with clear translational potential, bridging computational approaches, digital pathology, and clinical applications. You will be at the forefront of efforts to deliver a tool with the power to shape precision cancer immunotherapy strategies.
