The role
Join our dynamic Faculty of Health and Life Sciences Technical Team!
We’re looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Research Technician to join our team in the Biomedical Sciences Building. In this role, you will support the core operations of the Media, Autoclaves, and Liquid Nitrogen facility, while also providing vital assistance to the Research Technical Teams across the School of Biochemistry and Cellular & Molecular Medicine, the School of Psychology and Neuroscience, and the Medical School.
Please note: this role is a fixed-term contract, working full time 35hrs / week, Monday – Friday, until June 2026 and is also available as a secondment opportunity.
What will you be doing?
In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the efficient running of the Media, Autoclaves, and Liquid Nitrogen facilities, while also providing essential support to the Research Technical Teams.
Your responsibilities will include scientific glass washing, media and solution preparation, autoclave operation, liquid nitrogen refilling, equipment maintenance, gas cylinder relocation, waste collection and transfer, and assistance with laboratory stocks.
You will also support the Research Technical Teams with their daily tasks and operational needs. A strong focus on safety and strict adherence to laboratory guidelines and regulations will be vital to your success.
