About the role
The University’s Hospitality Department provides a wide range of catering services to students, staff, and external visitors throughout the academic year and summer months. We operate a number of outlets offering diverse, high-quality food and drink options.
We’re looking for hardworking, reliable Commis Chefs to join our team. You’ll support our chefs in producing high-quality dishes while maintaining excellent hygiene, cleanliness, and health and safety standards.
This is a 36.5-hour-per-week role, working 5 days out of 7. Shifts are mainly daytime during term time, with some evening work required during the summer. The position is contracted for 42 weeks per year, with typical non-working weeks at Christmas, Easter, and August.
About you
You’ll have a real passion for cooking great food and experience working as a junior chef. An NVQ in Food Preparation would be an advantage. You should thrive in a busy kitchen environment, show a positive attitude, and be a strong team player who builds effective working relationships with colleagues.
