An exciting, part-time and permanent position has arisen within our small, friendly, campus-based E-Learning team. We are seeking to recruit an entry-level assistant learning technologist to help with supporting staff and students use various learning technologies including Moodle, Turnitin, Panopto, and SEAtS. We are not expecting you to be familiar with these technologies as training will be provided.
The job entails responding effectively and promptly to routine queries and requests from staff and students related to digital learning, teaching and assessment. You will also handle more complex enquiries with support from our experienced team until you are able to handle some complex jobs more independently. The work will involve configuring our E-Learning systems to resolve enquiries, creating online resources and support materials, and assisting with in-person delivery of structured training. We will support you in developing your knowledge and skills for this work.
Applicants should have A ‘levels or an equivalent grade 3 qualification. They should have experience of having solved a range of basic to challenging technical problems related to digital technology independently and by working with others. They should also have experience of supporting or mentoring others using digital technology and they should be very familiar with Microsoft 365 applications. This experience could be from work, study or life experience. An ability to communicate clearly in writing and in person is essential and applicants must be able to reflect on and develop the quality of their work in response to feedback from others, learn new systems quickly, and be good at solving problems.
Informal enquiries about this opportunity are very welcome. Please contact Kris Dines, at k.dines@staff.newman.ac.uk, to discuss the role further.
