The Faculty of Law is looking for maternity cover for the role of Senior Administrator for the Masters in Law and Finance and Postgraduate Taught Courses. They will be responsible for leading the administrative support for the Masters in Law and Finance (‘MLF’) programme, leading and advising on all aspects of the work of the MLF team. They will work closely with the Associate Dean for Taught Graduate Students, other course directors, and the Head of Academic Administration to set and maintain standards and have significant input into decision-making around policy for the Faculty. They will lead the PGT and PGR Functional Team, and provide leadership in the development and implementation of new initiatives.
The successful candidate will be educated to degree level or holding a broadly equivalent academic or professional qualification; proven administrative (or directly transferable) experience in a comparable role; detailed knowledge of the principles, policies, legislation, regulations, and procedures in postgraduate education, and the ability to generate innovative solutions to problems through the application of this professional expertise; significant experience of supervising the work of colleagues, in both a managerial and a team leadership role; with effective interpersonal skills at all levels; able to work independently, undertaking research and using own initiative with good judgement for assessing when advice or approval is required, an exercising excellent organisational skills. A flexible approach to work, with a supportive and co-operative attitude and the composure to handle unexpected situations and the ability to prioritise appropriately in order to meet deadlines is desirable.
This post is full time and fixed term to 8 January 2027. They will be based at St Cross Building, St Cross Road, Oxford OX1 3UL. The Faculty of Law supports a hybrid working pattern, and you will have to be in the office 40% of the time at minimum.
