Join Our Team as a Technical Officer - Engineering Manufacturing

Are you passionate about hands-on technical work and supporting innovation in engineering education? We're looking for a Technical Officer to join our Science and Engineering Manufacturing team within Technical Services.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic, collaborative environment supporting students, staff, and researchers across a wide range of engineering disciplines.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Supporting teaching and learning in Mechanical, Electrical, and Electronic Engineering.
  • Providing expert advice and services, including electronic project design and skills training.
  • Collaborating with technical teams across the faculty to deliver high-quality support.
  • Contributing to research, consultancy, and knowledge exchange activities.
  • Promoting continuous improvement and excellent customer service.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience in electrical and electronic engineering.
  • Preferably, skills in PCB design and manufacture.
  • Familiarity with mains power systems (desirable).
  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety in lab/workshop settings.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
  • A proactive, supportive approach to working with students and staff.
