The Dickson Poon School of Law at King’s College London is one of the oldest law schools in England and recognised as one of the best law schools in the world. We are based in the East Wing of Somerset House, a Grade One listed building, on our Strand Campus, a short walk from the Royal Courts of Justice and Inns of Court in the heart of legal London. About the role

The Dickson Poon School of Law is seeking to appoint 2 Lecturers in Law who will contribute to the teaching, research, and other academic & professional activities at The Dickson Poon School of Law in Digital Law.

The successful candidates’ principal teaching contribution will be on our postgraduate programmes (online, on-campus and overseas) in one of the following areas: FinTech, IP & Data Protection or Regulations/Compliance/Ethics. Additionally, post-holders may be asked to contribute to the undergraduate programmes, including our core modules.

The successful candidates are expected to have completed a PhD by the starting date. They should be keen to gain further experience in research-led teaching roles with active involvement in the administration and academic life of a thriving law school.

These lectureship positions will include short periods (maximum of 3 weeks per academic term or 6 weeks per calendar year), where the successful candidates will be required to travel to deliver in-person teaching in Southeast Asia, primarily Indonesia (Singhasari region). These teaching assignments are a valued part of the role and will contribute to our international education partnerships. We will work with the successful candidates to ensure that any travel arrangements are accessible & inclusive. Candidates are also welcome to discuss any specific needs or circumstances during the recruitment process. 

In relation to their research, the successful candidates will have a demonstrably high potential to attract research funding, will be impact-focused & able contribute, if applicable, to the research priorities of the research centres in the School of Law.
