An exciting opportunity has arisen for Clinical Teaching Fellows to join Norwich Medical School. The role is ideally suited to a doctor who has graduated at least two years prior to appointment and who is seeking to develop skills and experience in medical education alongside their clinical practice.
You will deliver high-quality teaching and training to medical students, including enhancement to the Virtual Learning Environment, resource development, mentoring, and assessments, to prepare students for practice as foundation doctors. You will support and supervise medical students in clinical environments during their direct interactions with patients. This element will require you to hold or arrange an NHS or honorary contract. There is an expectation that you will remain clinically active during this period. For the remaining 0.5 FTE, you would be encouraged to seek a bank contract or directly gain employment with specific NHS department for a clinical role. Norwich Medical School and Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (NNUH) will jointly support such a working pattern. The role will also support the design, delivery, and enhancement of the MB BS and GEM curriculum, with a particular emphasis on virtual learning environment, resource development and assessment.
This role provides an exciting opportunity to gain a Postgraduate Certificate in Clinical Education (this will be funded during this post duration) and to develop skills in curriculum design, teaching, and assessment. It is particularly suited to candidates with a passion for medical education who wish to build a solid foundation for a career in clinical education.
You must be GMC registered with full license to practice or equivalent, with evidence of completion of foundation programme/training or equivalent experience in the NHS, at least 2 years post-graduation.
These part-time (0.5 FTE) posts are available on a fixed term basis for 12 months.
