Research Associate salary on appointment will be £31,236 per annum (pro rata), with an annual increment to £37,694 per annum (pro rata) 

Senior Research Associate salary on appointment will be £38,784 per annum (pro rata), with an annual increment to £46,049 per annum (pro rata) 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Research Associate or Senior Research Associate to work on the quantitative elements of the Long-Term Conditions group research projects. The aims of these projects are to improve the lives and care of people living with rheumatic and other autoimmune disease. The principal investigator (PI) of this project is Dr Melanie Sloan. The research team includes Professor Felix Naughton (health psychology, UEA), many senior clinicians from rheumatology, psychiatry and neurology, and has a strong ethos of co-production with patients. 

You will be based within the Public Health Research Department within the Norwich Medical School, at the University of East Anglia (UEA), and work closely with colleagues at the Department of Public Health in Cambridge, and wider team. You will be working under the supervision of Dr Melanie Sloan and within the wider Long-Term Conditions Research group which includes researchers based at UEA, Cambridge and collaborators from other UK and international Universities.  You will draw on their research experience to lead, plan, undertake and present statistical analysis and contribute to the wider projects. 

The appointment will be considered at Research Associate or Senior Research Associate grade dependent on skills and experience. The post is available from 6 January 2026 on a full-time basis for a fixed term period of 1 year, or a part-time (0.5 FTE) basis for a fixed term period of up to 2 years.
