Research Associate

We seek a highly motivated postdoctoral molecular life scientist researcher to study protein aggregation and the role of chaperones in the organized sequestration of misfolded proteins. The position will involve the use of a wide-range of molecular and cell biological approaches including recombinant DNA technology, fluorescent microscopy and proteomic techniques to assess how protein aggregation acts as a protein quality control (PQC) mechanism in eukaryotic cells. For relevant publications see Cell Reports (2024) 43:114360 and PLoS Genet (2024) 20: e1011194. The position will involve the use of yeast molecular biology and biochemical techniques as well as proteomics and microscopy approaches to characterize protein aggregates. As a result, the project will require combined wet-lab work and experience in computational analysis of proteomic data. The project will use the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae as an experimental model relevant to all eukaryotic systems.
