About us
The CRUK Scotland Institute is a cancer research institute, situated in Glasgow with approximately 250 researchers split across 30 research groups consisting of PIs, postdoctoral scientists, PhD students and scientific officers. It is one of Europe's leading cancer research centres, supporting cutting-edge work into the molecular mechanisms of cancer development. As well as core support from Cancer Research UK, the Institute also receives an additional third of its total income from external grants and industry collaborations. It has an excellent reputation for fundamental cancer research, including world-class metabolism studies and renowned in vivo modelling of tumour growth and metastasis. Project outline
We are seeking an ambitious senior leader to head our Research Management function. A key focus of the role will be to provide strategic leadership to the Institute including support and advice to the Director as a member of the Senior Management Team (SMT).
The post holder will lead scientific reviews, oversee the end-to-end Early Career Researcher (ECR) lifecycle, and be responsible for leading the communications strategy and coordinating high-level visits and events.
The role will suit an individual who is creative, solution focused and engaged with the research ambition of the Institute. You will bring fresh ideas as well as a track record of delivering successful projects to support the research community. Your background will be in Research Management, Policy or Funding within a research environment. We are seeking someone who will inspire their team and build strong relationships across the Institute.
