Our dedicated Assistant Professors (Teaching) are subject specialists focused on delivering student education, which is active, social, applied, and inclusive within our vibrant and varied education environment.

The Role

The School of Health and Care delivers an extensive range of undergraduate and post graduate courses for professionals working in health and care settings inclusive of nursing, midwifery, occupational therapy, dietetics, paramedic science, operating department practitioners, diagnostic radiography, podiatry, clinical psychology and public health. 

As Assistant Professor (Teaching) in the Post-Registration MSc Nursing team, you will coordinate courses and deliver teaching across undergraduate, postgraduate, and professional programs, ensuring students receive a high-quality learning experience.

This role will play a key role in enhancing the student learning experience, including leading academic teams. They collaborate with colleagues to enrich teaching and ensure that relevant research, enterprise, and professional context are integrated into modules and courses.

Duties include:

• Lead the design, adaptation, and development of Post-Registration MSc Nursing modules and teaching materials for both online and campus delivery.
• Create assessment and feedback tasks aligned with Group and School quality assurance standards.
• Provide coaching and mentorship to students and academic colleagues.
• Uphold high standards of academic integrity in teaching, learning, and assessment.

Qualifications Required

• Master’s degree in an appropriate subject OR (if from a professional practice background) a good Honors Degree and an appropriate professional qualification and/or membership
• A teaching qualification or extensive experience of delivering professional and/or university education
• PhD would be advantageous

Our Successful Candidate

You will bring proven experience teaching Nursing at levels 4–7, with strong digital skills and leadership in creating face-to-face and online learning materials. A commitment to active learning, cultural awareness, and inclusive communication is essential. The role also requires innovation, collaboration, and flexibility in working both independently and within teams.
