Project Manager (x2 posts)

Cambridge University Press & Assessment

Do you thrive when managing projects and driving complex change? We have an exciting role that will shape the future of International Education!

Cambridge University Press & Assessment is seeking Project Managers on a permanent and fixed term contract basis, to join our Programmes & Change Team in International Education. If you are passionate about delivering meaningful change across diverse products and services and influencing stakeholders in dynamic environments, we want to hear from you.

About the Role

The role of Project Manager is focused on leading strategic transformation by driving high-impact projects that shape the future of international education. You will be working at the heart of the world's largest provider of international education programmes, supporting millions of learners across more than 170 countries.

This pivotal position goes beyond simple delivery, requiring you to translate business needs into tangible outcomes, influence organisational direction, and embed sustainable change. You will manage cross-functional projects that span multiple directorates and shared service areas, often navigating complex situations where solutions are not immediately clear. Building strong stakeholder relationships and influencing senior leaders are key aspects of the role, as is helping to shape organisational thinking. The team culture is collaborative and supportive, with a strong emphasis on sharing expertise and learning together.

As Project Manager, additional responsibilities include:

  • leading the planning, delivery, and tracking of complex change and transformation projects aligned with strategic goals.
  • working across various directorates and shared service areas to deliver integrated business and technical change, engaging, and influencing a wide range of stakeholders—from sponsors to operational teams—while bringing clarity to uncertain situations.
  • shaping business cases, managing budgets, ensuring benefits are realised and sustained, and championing change management to drive adoption and embed new ways of working.
  • contributing to the project and change management community by mentoring others and sharing best practices.

About You

We are seeking motivated individual with proven experience in leading complex business change or transformation projects. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a proven record of translating intricate business challenges into practical, actionable solutions and successfully driving these initiatives to completion in alignment with strategic objectives. Demonstrated ability to build strategic relationships, influence senior leadership, and communicate effectively with diverse teams is essential.

In addition, you will;

  • bring proven experience of guiding people, processes, and technology through change— with a focus on strong adoption and cultural evolution.
  • possess strong skills in planning, managing risks, budgeting, and achieving benefits.
  • demonstrate your ability to navigate ambiguity and excel amid fast-changing, dynamic environments where complexity and uncertainty are commonplace.
  • be confident and adept in the use of project management methodologies such as Waterfall (APM, PMP, or PRINCE2) and skilled with tools like Microsoft Project or Jira.

Please be advised that although technical project experience is important, this position requires more than expertise confined to IT delivery or technical implementation. Significant experience in leading or contributing to business-driven change initiatives is essential for consideration.

Ready to make your mark?

If you are a confident, collaborative project manager who relishes the challenge of delivering complex, cross-organisational change, apply now and help us shape the future of international education.
