An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Solicitor to join the Legal, Governance and Compliance Division of the University.
Key duties of the role include the following areas:
Main responsibilities of the role include advising on, negotiating, and drafting UK and international commercial and academic/research agreements including terms and conditions of academic activity and funding, collaboration agreements, academic partnership agreements, services agreements, terms and conditions of sale and purchase, IT and software terms and conditions and agent agreements and advising on legal issues arising out of such arrangements including those relating to commercial law, contract law and company law. You will contribute to the development and delivery of a Legal Services Strategy to support the business in meeting the 2030 Strategy and Corporate Plan.
You will be a qualified solicitor in England and Wales, with significant post qualification experience in commercial law, and have demonstrable experience in drafting, negotiating and advising on a wide range of commercial contracts. You will be able to meet all essential criteria detailed in the candidate brochure.
This full-time post is available from 15 December 2025 on an indefinite basis.
