Main duties and responsibilities
The Project Manager – Phoenix will be responsible for managing, agreeing and controlling all University project activities relating to the replacement student record system (Phoenix). They will plan, synchronise and deliver the new system with University and supplier teams. In addition to the new system delivery and its deliverables across the different phases of implementation, the Project Manager will also establish and implement business continuity measures.
You will manage resources and workloads efficiently, track progress and escalate promptly unresolved risks or issues accordingly to the relevant governance groups, build strong working relationships across teams and coordinate with the supplier project manager, team leaders and programme director to manage the cumulative project plan. You will apply established project and product management methodologies, offering advice and guidance as needed and facilitate and uphold best practices in the management of specialist teams—including integration, data migration, and reporting—by ensuring thorough consultation with the Data Governance Manager and other SME roles for matters related to governance and integrity management.
Skills and experience required
You will have substantial proven practical expertise and experience at an appropriate level of responsibility in design, implementation and management of IT systems and substantial proven expertise and experience in project management and implementation applying a system implementation lifecycle. You will have the ability to demonstrate a high standard of communications and interpersonal skills, be self-motivated and flexible with the ability to work calmly under pressure using own initiative.
You will also have experience of managing work activities which require a high level of collaborative working, time management and technical skills in a busy environment. Experience and understanding of technical architecture relating to a Higher Education student record or similar system and experience of providing technical leadership in a complex environment are essential for this role.
Qualifications required
You will be educated with a minimum of a Degree or equivalent or proven administrative experience.
