We are seeking a Research Associate to make a leading contribution to the project, “CVD Growth, Functionalisation, and Transfer of 2D Metal-Chalcogenides for Novel Device Architectures”, aimed at developing next-generation 2D materials for Net Zero electronics. Working with Dr Alexey Ganin in the School of Chemistry, you will play a key role in advancing scalable growth, functionalisation, and integration of 2D semiconductors into prototype device architectures. This project is part of the UKRI-funded NEED2D Programme “Enabling Net Zero and the AI Revolution with Ultra-Low Energy 2D Materials and Devices”, a major collaborative initiative between the Universities of Glasgow, Nottingham, and Queen Mary University of London.
The successful candidate will contribute to publications in respectable journals, research proposals, and project management, while actively engaging with academic and industrial partners across the network. You will participate in joint experimental programmes and knowledge exchange in 2D material synthesis, characterisation, and device optimisation, helping to shape technologies that address the urgent energy challenges of electronic devices.
