Postdoctoral Scientist - PNAC - Dr Noe Rodriguez - LMB 2794

Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Scientist position in the Group of Dr Noe Rodriguez at the Laboratory of Molecular Biology (LMB). The overall goal of the group is to study neuroimmune interactions in organoid models and primary tissues, undertaking research to develop light sheet microscopy approaches for imaging live and fixed tissues at high resolution and further develop tissue clearing approaches invented within the institute. This is a project in collaboration with Dr James Manton. 

The goal of this project is to undertake research to develop high-throughput light sheet microscopy aimed at imaging entire tissues at sub-micron resolution and to develop tissue clearing methods suitable for live or fixed tissue. 

As the successful candidate you will have a PhD in instrument development or be due to complete doctoral studies within 6 months of applying. Ideally you will have experience of light sheet imaging and/or cleared tissue preparation and imaging. Skills in optical engineering and instrument building are highly desirable. This project requires the optimisation of both hardware and wetware and so experience with both is required. 

This is a two-year training and development position suitable for you if you have recently completed your doctoral studies, or you are looking to move into a new research discipline and/or need to further develop your research skills.
