About us

The Faculty of Mathematical and Physical Sciences (MAPS) is comprised of eight departments that are highly rated for research excellence: Chemistry; Physics & Astronomy; Space & Climate Physics; Mathematics; Science & Technology Studies; Earth Sciences, Risk and Disaster Reduction and Statistical Science. In addition, the Faculty has its own interdepartmental undergraduate degree programme: Natural Sciences.

The Faculty provides a base for a number of research centres and institutes: these facilitate in-depth and interdisciplinary research through collaboration between experts

The Faculty prides itself on providing a rich and culturally diverse environment for students and staff alike. This role is working within the Professional Services Team in the Department of Mathematics, which sits within the MAPS Faculty.

About the role

Main purpose of the job The post holder will provide specialist administration to the designated teaching programmes, ensuring effective procedures are documented and adopted for dealing with all aspects of its administration. This post will assist in achieving a high quality and timely service to current students, and staff relating to the designated courses/programmes and beyond.

The post will provide support for all matters relating to the teaching and learning activities of students from enquiry to completion, incorporating supporting committees and processes relating to induction, assessment, student and course records.

The post holder will, as part of the wider team, be involved in the administration of the department’s compliance with Tier 4 legislation and student engagement monitoring policies for undergraduate students, ensuring that activities undertaken in relation to UKVI processes and procedures for all student immigration categories are followed.
