At the Lincoln Institute for Coastal and Rural Health (LIRCH) we take a unique approach to research.

We need people who are leaders in their communities, people who understand the barriers to accessing health and care support – because you have been directly affected by these challenges and are driven to change this for the better. LIRCH need passionate, confident people to be the direct link between the Lincoln Institute for Coastal and Rural Health (LIRCH), and the coastal and rural communities our research focusses on.

LIRCH have purposely designed the role of Community Researcher to bring our research to local people. We have two roles available where we aim to increase community engagement and involvement in research whilst providing direct research activity support to our research team.

The Community Researchers will work closely with project leads throughout the project life cycle with specific support in project development, community engagement, data collection and measurement, funding and grant support, impact and evidence collection. These roles aren’t typical desk jobs; they’re about empowering local people and amplifying their voice to generate change through research.

Be a key part of health and wellbeing research in Lincolnshire and work with world leading experts in health and social care, the geographies (human and physical), social and political sciences, design and innovation, and climate and environment.

We have two positions available, both CHS257 and CHS258 are permanent and full-time at 1 FTE. Whilst the roles are advertised as full time, we are happy to consider part time hours and flexible working patterns, however we will not be able to offer a fully remote position.

For an informal discussion about this opportunity, please contact Professor Mark Gussy (mgussy@lincoln.ac.uk).
