The opportunity:
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Bayne lab within the Institute of Cell Biology at the University of Edinburgh. This postdoctoral research associate (PDRA) position, funded by the Wellcome Trust, will focus on exploring how RNA interference contributes to adaptation in the human fungal pathogen, Cryptococcus. The project aims to elucidate mechanisms and functions of RNAi in adaptive gene regulation, employing a range of approaches including sRNA sequencing, transcriptomics, proteomics, genome engineering and other molecular biology techniques. The successful candidate will join a dynamic and supportive research group embedded in a thriving community of fungal and RNA biology research.
This post is fixed-term (3 years) and full-time (35 hours per week), however, we are open to considering part-time or flexible working patterns.
