What you’ll do

We’re looking for a confident and strategic Recruitment & Onboarding Manager (12 months maternity cover) to lead our recruitment operations and play a key role in driving our People Strategy forward in all things recruitment.

You’ll work closely with internal stakeholders to advise and deliver tailored recruitment solutions as well as build strong relationships with recruitment agencies to ensure quality and value.

You’ll lead a dedicated team of two Recruitment Assistants, ensuring onboarding is compliant with Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) and continuously improving processes to enhance the candidate experience.

From analysing recruitment data to planning job fairs and delivering manager training, this fast-paced role is pivotal to the success of our recruitment function and the delivery of a seamless, high-quality candidate experience.

Day-to-day you will:

  • Manage the recruitment inbox and handle escalated recruitment queries
  • Oversee onboarding for new colleagues—including agency staff, volunteers, and PGCE students
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to attract the best talent to Nottingham College
  • Continuously review and improve recruitment and onboarding processes
  • Deliver training on best practice in interviewing, recruitment and onboarding

Who we’re looking for

In this fast-paced role, we’re looking for someone with:

  • Proven experience in recruitment management, ideally within education or a similar sector
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
  • A creative and strategic mindset with the ability to analyse data and drive improvements
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and compliance requirements, including KCSIE.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
  • Passionate about delivering a positive candidate experience and promoting careers in education
