The Division of Materials and Components at Department of Wind & Energy Systems, Technical University of Denmark is seeking a highly motivated Senior Researcher within sustainability and fibre composites circularity. The position will be anchored in Section of Composites Manufacturing and Testing. This section, together with the other sections in the division, comprises state-of-the-art experimental facilities and competences covering the whole chain of manufacturing, characterization, mechanical testing and modelling of fibre composites.

Responsibilities and qualifications

Do you have a strong research background within sustainability, and circularity of fibre composites then perhaps you are our new Senior Researcher. The research of the position covers understanding of recycling processes and their impact of the composite properties.

Focus will be on a materials level in order to get an understanding of the underlying mechanisms present in the recycling process and on assessing fully circular scenarios. Teaching and supervision of students within the research field will be developed together with colleagues. Work will be performed in close contact to industry, both as part of external funded projects, and as part of our commissioned work.

You will be part of a team of around 34 employees, consisting of researchers, development engineers, PhD students and technicians working closely together.

Key responsibilities

  • You will contribute to strengthening and further developing the research field of sustainability and circularity of composites at DTU Wind & Energy Systems.
  • You will consolidate and further expand our industrial network within the field of composite sustainability and circularity.
  • You will be successful in attracting external funding to support research, and its implementation in technical solutions.
  • You will thrive through publication of your scientific work in international journals.
  • You will engage in the development of teaching, and supervision of students.
  • You will contribute to dissemination of research results, internally and externally.

To be a successful candidate for the position, you must meet the following qualifications:

  • You have experience in experimental and modelling work of mechanical properties of composites
  • You have a strong research background in the field of sustainability and circularity of fibre composites.
  • You have experience in teaching and supervision.
  • You have a successful record for attracting funding.
  • You have a successful record of managing research projects.
  • You enjoy working with complex topics and are driven by pushing boundaries.
  • You are a team player; you are motivated by both individual and team accomplishments.
  • You believe in dialogue and feedback as the best foundation for sound decision-making
  • You strive to develop talent amongst others.
