About The Role

This part time (0.8 FTE, 29.20 hours) post is available from the 5th January 2026 on a fixed term basis until 31st March 2027.
The starting salary will be from £33,951.00 on Grade E, depending on qualifications and experience.
This role offers the opportunity for hybrid working – some time on campus and some from home.
We are looking for an experienced individual who will be responsible for the financial administration and management, preferably with a good knowledge of Higher Education and Research to financially administer the externally funder research project FAILSAFE – Fungal AMR Innovations for LMICS: Solutions and Access For Everyone - within the MRC Centre for Medical Mycology (MRC CMM) led by Profs Gordon Brown, Director, and Elaine Bignell, Co-Director of the MRC CMM.
The post holder must have excellent financial management and interpersonal skills and be able to effectively liaise with the Project team, the project funder, partners and other stakeholders involved in the delivery of the project aims and objectives.
The post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day financial delivery, management and oversight for the budgets associated with the project(s), ensuring all sponsor Terms and Conditions including audit requirements and University policies and processes are met. The post holder must be able to plan, prioritise, provide administrative support, and work efficiently on a varied workload and be able to demonstrate initiative and flexibility. The position will work closely with the FAILSAFE project manager and team and is central to running of the project.
