This is an exciting opportunity to be a key player in the small, dynamic team building the UK's new Academy for the Mathematical Sciences - a national institution that brings together academia, education, business, industry and government to harness the power of the mathematical sciences for societal and economic benefit.
As Communications Manager, you will take a leading role in shaping how the Academy presents itself to the world. You will plan and deliver high-quality communications across multiple platforms, manage our website and social-media channels, produce impactful publications and reports, and develop engaging content that promotes the work of the Academy and the importance of the mathematical sciences. You will also support the Academy's public-engagement activities, raise its media profile, and help connect our growing network of partners and stakeholders.
We are looking for a confident and creative communicator, comfortable working at both strategic and practical levels. You will have strong digital and editorial skills, experience of translating complex academic ideas for non-specialist audiences, and the initiative to work independently as well as collaboratively in a small team.
The Academy for the Mathematical Sciences (AcadMathSci) is hosted by the Isaac Newton Institute for Mathematical Sciences and is supported by a wide network of volunteers across academia, education, business, industry and government. Recent highlights include publication of the UK's first Maths Manifesto, a landmark economic-impact report on the mathematical sciences, and a national Maths Can Take You Anywhere_ campaign celebrating diverse career paths in mathematics.
