This role operates primarily on a remote working arrangement that will require little to no travel into our Campuses. Our working model arrangements are a non-contractual benefit so please note that an Arden work location is added to our employment contracts.

Our School of Psychology, part of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Technology, is committed to providing high-quality, applied psychology education. About the Opportunity:

We have a great opportunity for a Lecturer in Psychology to join our Psychology with Counselling Department.  You will be required to contribute to the development and delivery of our programmes. You will:

  • Deliver excellent teaching and learning to our students.
  • Lead and develop modules, ensuring high-quality learning materials and curriculum development.
  • Design excellent digital teaching material ensuring that content and methods of delivery meet defined learning objectives.
  • Oversee assessment marking, design authentic assessments, and provide high-quality feedback.
  • Manage own teaching activity and reflect on practice and development of skills, with support/guidance as needed.
  • Supervise dissertation students.
  • Undertake administrative activities to support teaching and learning activities.
  • Actively contribute to department-level activity.

** Working pattern is flexible to suit the successful candidate.

About You:

To be successful as a Lecturer in Psychology you will need:

  • An MSc or equivalent qualification in Psychology, with Graduate Basis for Chartership (GBC) recognised by the British Psychological Society (BPS).
  • Experience in teaching, learning, and assessment practices in Higher Education.
  • A track record of successfully contributing to programme teams and being an inspiring and creative lecturer.
  • Experience as a practitioner qualified counsellor.
  • AdvanceHE Recognition (FHEA) or a willingness to achieve it within 12-18 months.
  • We especially encourage applications from those with subject specialisms in counselling, mental health, and research methods.
